The primary role of the Portfolio Manager will be to collaboratively deliver, execute and communicate investment management services to individual, nonprofit and corporate clients within our Western region, which includes Roanoke and Knoxville.

Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for construction and management of diversified investment portfolios using a variety of TCV investment strategies and vehicles
  • Work with account administrators to develop and document appropriate investment objectives, asset allocation guidelines and appropriate investment strategies for the client base
  • Actively participate in equity research with the investment team to include sector, industry and company analysis
  • Assist with evaluation, screening, selection and management of mutual funds and other investment managers
  • Conduct and summarize economic analysis and research
  • Perform rebalancing/trading analysis within client accounts
  • Participate and serve on the TCV Trust Investment Committee
  • Work collaboratively with account administrators and other members of the portfolio management team
  • Conduct portfolio reviews with account administrators and communicate complicated investment concepts to a varied client base
  • Participate in business development meetings with account administrators and management
  • Travel within the TCV footprint with occasional overnight stays as necessary. Driver’s license is required

Education and Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years minimum of related work experience preferred
  • Undergraduate/Graduate degree in Finance/Economics preferred
  • CFA or CFP designation or working towards is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates who are actively pursuing a CFA designation and who have passed Level I or II of the program.

Candidate Skills:

  • Ability to communicate complex investment and market concepts in a clear, concise manner to a variety of clients.
  • Strong analytical skills are required. Detail oriented and organized.
  • Work collaboratively with client team to deliver fiduciary services and achieve client satisfaction.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, as well as presentation skills.
  • Ability to adjust communication style to varying audiences.
